5 cancer causing foods

Red meat, processed meat and charred food:

 Bowel and stomach cancer are more common among people who consumed a lot of red and processed meat. Especially processed meat that contains sodium nitrate or sodium nitrite as preservatives to extend its shelf life, are highly likely to cause cancer.

Charred food contains chemical that increase the likelihood of getting cancer by damaging our cells. Sugar:

The scientific community is divided on the role of sugar in formation and growth of cancer cells. However, there is a consensus that elimination of process sugar from daily usage is quite beneficial for health and reduces the cancer risk.   Canadian Society of Cancer points out that eating a lot of sugary foods can make you gain weight. In turn, obesity or being overweight increases the risk of cancer. Research has shown that obesity causes changes in hormones that may lead to develop breast, colon or uterine cancer.

To reduce the risk of cancer, it is important to limit the usage of sugar in your daily diet and be conscious about your weight to keep it under control.

Fried food, French fries, potato chips and snack food:

Fried foods like French fries, potato chips or other snacks are baked or fried at high temperatures forming a carcinogenic substance called acryl amide. Though acryl amide is found in all foods heated above 250 F, however, potato chips and French fries are among its richest sources.

To date, though research has failed to produce a conclusive evidence establishing a link between acryl amide and various types of cancer among human beings. Despite, many still believe it is better to limit the fried food intake as prolonged exposure of acryl amide has caused a range of tumours among animals during tests.

Another potential cause of cancer linked with this type of foods is trans fatty acids. That formed during manufacturing when liquid oils are changed into solid fats via a process called hydrogenation.  

Trans fats increase the risk of cardiovascular condition and type 2 diabetes and its high intake is associated with prostate cancer in men.

Alcohol consumption:

A strong scientific consensus shows, a link between alcohol consumption and various types of cancer exists. More a person drinks alcohol, more he develops the risk of getting cancer. According Cancer Research UK, alcohol consumption is found related with a various types of cancer including mouth cancer, liver cancer, bowel cancer and throat cancer.
